Juvéderm restores youthful glow, bounce, and plumpness to the skin in and around the face. It is not a synthetic filler, which means the body works with the product to erase wrinkles, crow’s feet, smile lines, and more.

JUVÉDERM injections at either of our Georgia locations take around 15 – 30 minutes. Your face will be cleaned, then the injection spots will be marked. To minimize discomfort during the process, JUVÉDERM dermal fillers contain a local anesthetic. After your procedure, you are allowed to go back to your normal routine; however, strenuous activity should be avoided for at least 24 hours.

You should be cautious to not touch your face after your treatment to avoid moving the gel into other areas. You will likely experience a noticeable improvement immediately following your JUVÉDERM treatment, but you may also develop mild swelling or bruising in the treated areas for approximately 7 – 10 days. The results of JUVÉDERM injections typically last for as long as one year; however, some patients find that their improvements last even longer after a few years of treatments. Talk to Dr. Umerah about how soon to schedule your next session at Ageless Aesthetics to sustain your results.

Juvéderm works by attracting water to injection sites, through the properties of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is hydrophilic, meaning it loves water and draws water to itself: ideal for smoothing out creases in the face, neck, and around the eyes naturally.

Juvéderm filler injections improve the appearance of facial wrinkles and folds for between nine months and two years, depending on the metabolism of the patient. Because Juvéderm uses hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in the body, it is eventually absorbed by the patient’s own metabolism.

Juvéderm Uses Hylacross Technology To Optimize Smooth Skin

Hylacross technology breaks the hyaluronic acid used in Juvéderm into a variety of different sized molecules, which mimics the natural shape and construction normally found in the body. Creating a mix of particles of varying size allows Juvéderm to blend into the facial tissues easily and mimic and join forces with the natural hyaluronic acid the body produces on its own.

This produces an extremely smooth and non-granular gel that means better results for the patient, including less pain when injecting, and a more even distribution of the gel around the injection area.

There are several Juvéderm filler injections available in the United States, each with a specific purpose.

Juvéderm XC

Juvéderm XC is a versatile facial filler that incorporates pain-relieving Lidocaine in the injection. This is the “regular” type of Juvéderm and it is primarily used to lift wrinkles, cure unwanted folds, boost weak cheeks, and to plump lips. Juvéderm XC is known to have the most dramatic effect on a patient’s lips. It typically lasts between nine months and two years.

Juvéderm Ultra XC

Juvéderm Ultra XC is lip-focused filler that provides a subtle, svelte appeal to the lips and reduces lines in and around the lips. This injection can last for a year or longer.

Juvéderm Voluma

Juvéderm Voluma is specifically formulated for use in the larger areas of the cheeks, temples, and nose. It creates a full, round lift in the cheeks and contours the face around the upper zygomatic bone. Juvéderm Voluma also tends to last longest, nearing two years in some patients.

Juvéderm Vobella

Juvéderm Vobella is also a lip filler, but it excels at restoring youthful plumpness and vigor to lips that have been made soft and flaccid by time. It is considered the most subtle of the Juvéderm fillers.

Juvéderm Vollure

Juvéderm Vollure softens the lines that surround the lips and nose, and can last up to eighteen months in some individuals.

Fortunately you don’t have to choose between the various Juvéderm products or know the chemical and physiological differences between them: the medical professional in charge of your injections will be able to discuss the advantages of each with you in detail.

A Naturally Higher Concentration of Hyaluronic Acid

With 24mg/mL Juvéderm contains a potent, long-lasting amount of hyaluronic acid per injection. This is significant for the longevity of a given Juvéderm injection, since the body naturally absorbs hyaluronic acid over time since it is a natural part of human biology.

Higher Degree of Cross-linking

Cross-linking is directly related to how long the hyaluronic acid in the injection will last, and Juvéderm is 90% cross-linked, so it is the best cross-linking filler on the market.

Smooth Consistency, Distribution, and Flow

Precision injections are necessary in the small, detail-heavy areas of the face like the lips, around the nose, and chin. The smooth consistency of Juvéderm makes precision injections easier for the skilled medical professional doing the injection, and prevents uneven clumping or blotchy skin from the injection.

Less Pain and More Comfort When Injecting

Juvéderm is a gel and thanks to the Hylacross technology used in manufacturing it, the injection of the filler is as comfortable as possible. The medical professional needs to apply less pressure to get the gel injected, and less pressure means less discomfort for the patient, less damage to the facial tissues, smaller bruises and less likelihood of swelling.

Better Union With Skin Tissue And Increased Firmness

Juvéderm mimics the body’s naturally occurring skin filler, meaning it holds its shape when pushed and prodded, so it feels and looks more natural. It is also a more potent injection than other facial fillers, and therefore holds up for a longer duration and more strongly than the competition.

Long Lasting Effective Duration

Juvéderm is the only hyaluronic acid facial filler that lasts between nine months and two years. Compared even to Botox, which can last only four or five months at most, Juvéderm truly shines.

Facial filler injection treatments all begin with an approved medical professional taking a medical history and then a consultation, where you can discuss your desired results, the areas you want to change, and to discuss treatment options.

Juvéderm is injected into the skin with a fine-gauge needle, similar to receiving an immunization or a vaccine. The process is relatively quick and its effects are evident almost immediately, and the entire process from consultation to injection to departure should take less than an hour.

When injected below the skin  into the dermis, Juvéderm floods the body with a dose of much-needed hyaluronic acid, adding plumpness and vitality to creases, lines, and wrinkles, and achieving a more youthful appearance.

How much does JUVÉDERM cost?

The price of a JUVÉDERM injection will be based on the amount of filler that is needed to achieve your cosmetic goals. Before your JUVÉDERM treatment, a customized injection plan will be made to match your goals. Once this is complete, your injector will estimate costs and discuss payment options.

Are JUVÉDERM injections painful?

Though most patients don't think it's necessary, a numbing cream can be applied to the treatment area prior to injection if you are concerned about any discomfort. Following the injection, you may experience some slight swelling and bruising that will usually be gone in 5 – 7 days, depending on the treatment area. Please contact Ageless Aesthetics if you have any lasting discomfort or abnormal side effects following your JUVÉDERM injection.

What is the difference between a wrinkle filler and a relaxer?

Injectable fillers and relaxers address wrinkles throughout the face, but with different approaches. Injectable relaxers, such as BOTOX®, work to treat dynamic wrinkles caused by frequent muscle contractions. JUVÉDERM is an injectable wrinkle filler that corrects static wrinkles and adds volume. JUVÉDERM is designed to correct mild to moderate lines and wrinkles or reverse volume loss in your lips and cheeks.

What results can I expect?

It may take several days to view the complete results of your injections. Generally, it takes only one treatment session to achieve your goals. However, you can make a follow-up appointment if you would like to add more volume or see more improvement.

How long do results typically last?

Your results from a JUVÉDERM injection can last anywhere from 1 – 2 years. This can vary depending on what formula is selected and the injection site(s). The length of your results will depend on the speed at which your body absorbs the formula.
