Meet Dr. Emeka Umerah
Dr. Emeka Umerah is a cosmetic surgeon who practices all aspects of general cosmetic obstetrics and gynecology but has a special interest in advanced minimally invasive gynecologic and cosmetic procedures.
He holds many designations, including M.D., MBA, FACOG, FAACS, and he is board certified by the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the International Society of Cosmetogynecology (ISCG). Dr. Umerah is a fellow with the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgeons. He has expertise in Single Incision Laparoscopic (“scarless”) Surgeries (SILS) and is a national proctor for Covidien.
He obtained his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine at Chapel Hill where he was a Board of Governors Medical scholar. Dr. Umerah completed his postgraduate training in obstetrics and gynecology at Drexel University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He also holds an MBA from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University and a master’s degree with distinction from the H. John Heinz School of Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University.
Dr. Umerah has trained with the founder of the International Society of Cosmetogynecology (ISCG) and world-renowned cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Michael Pelosi II, in his New Jersey facility. He prides himself on continually being at the forefront of the latest advances in cosmetic surgery.
He is an associate clinical professor at the department of OB/GYN, Mercer University School of Medicine.
Dr. Umerah is also a national proctor for Applied Medical, AMS, and Covidien. The position of national proctor places Dr. Umerah at the forefront of industry advances.
